Monday 10/3/2010: Damon and Metcalf win Player of the Week award
Boston's leftfielder Johnny Damon had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the American League Player of the Week. He hit .476 with 10 RBI and slugged 1.095 in 21 at bats. While compiling an on base percentage of .339, Johnny hit .279 and slugged .552. He has collected 141 runs batted in this year. He's 1st in the American League in RBIs and 5th in homeruns! The National League's best player of the week was New York (N)'s Travis Metcalf, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Metcalf helped his team with an average of .400 and 8 RBI in 20 at bats. He now has homered in 4 consecutive games as well!
Saturday 10/1/2010: Jimmy Rollins ropes 2000th career hit
TORONTO - Boston's players had every reason to congratulate Jimmy Rollins, who reached a milestone today, collecting his 2000th career hit! Along with his 2000 hits, Jimmy collected 46 homeruns and 675 RBI in 10 seasons. 'I still remember my first hit. But the one today is something special. I'll definitely keep that ball!' His hit in the 9th inning was a single off Carlos M. Martinez.

Winner of this months American League Pitcher of the Month award is Toronto's Josh Johnson. He started 6 games in September, going 4-1 and compiling an ERA of 0.00 in 47.1 innings. OAKLAND - Oakland's leftfielder Jose Guillen hurt himself in the 3rd inning while making a routine throw to first base. He experienced serious pain and had to leave the game. Jose Guillen will miss at least 7 weeks. Strained Elbow Ligament was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. His season numbers are: .243 AVG, 135 hits, 27 doubles, 2 triples and 17 taters, along with 70 RBI and 60 runs scored.
Monday 9/26/2010: Pedroia and Choo win Player of the Week award
The American League's best player of the week was Boston's Dustin Pedroia, who wins the award for the 3rd time in his career. Pedroia helped his team with an average of .500 and 4 RBI in 16 at bats.
