In an interview with new Rockies GM Braz we were able to gain some insight into the next season and what might transpire with the current roster and talent.
1. Are you at all worried about payroll being so high?
a. Hell yeah we are worried. We took out several loans and executives are taking some pay cuts but its do or die here with a restart coming. We are going for broke for 2011 and from there we will figure out what it is like to play ball.
1. Are you at all worried about payroll being so high?

2. Freddie Freeman was the big acquisition of the year. Why him?
a. Well this guy can flat out hit. We see him at 21 years young with 8 hits(Brilliant) , 10 homers, (Brilliant) 7 doubles (Brilliant) and incredible fielding at first base. His power numbers were down this year but with his swing we really feel he can be incredible in his home park and with some more practice away from home as well. We see value in having a 300 hitter with some pop anchor us for years to come. 3. Was Tulo ever that guy for your team and future?
a. No he really was not. He was a little older then a true prospect and I did not love his lack of power. He signed an awesome deal toward the end but I would much rather have Jose Reyes and Freeman then Tulo and x player there4. Tell us about where Zack Greinke fits into your rotation
a. We are very excited to have Zack locked up for his prime. Last year he had a sub 3 ERA with over 200Ks despite missing some time. We have him for 5 years from age 27 to age 32 what more can we ask for an ace? Oh wait hes our 3 pitches ๐ 5. Dan Uggla and Willy Aybar are both big leaguers who have seemingly been completely replaced in your line up. Whats up with them?
a. Well frankly there is value In having these arbitration type guys, especially if you are running a low payroll but we are trying to win. Looking at how they performed last year I do not really see much upside for future success. I hope to ship em out! 6. Looking at the minors who is most likely to be brought up?
a. Well I am thinking Taylor Rodgers could potentially be a useful back end bullpen guy. I would love to see Castellanos up but maybe next year as he is already going to triple A. Yeah it has to be Rogers maybe even Pham! Pham is pretty solid. 7. How do you feel about your bullpen since the starters are so great?
a. Once we aquired vet and former boston closer Rafael Betancourt we felt great. Him and Wade Davis leaves us feeling very strong about what we have. If Rogers comes up and provides us a lefty option that would be good but unsure if 5 hits will cut it. 8. How do you project to finish at the current team set up?
a. I think we certainly have a chance at 90 wins. I would be happy with 95 and a wild card for sure! If we even slightly miss WC maybe it would still be good for my second year depending how other stuff goes. Our pitching is great but we need to hit the ball and score runs to win games. I need to work on the line up but right now looking at Ichiro and Reyes running the bases with strong bats like Ortiz, Freeman, Schneider able to go to town on opposing pitchers we should be in a pretty good spot for the year. I think finding the right line up will be very important for us to win9. Who will be your silent MVP
a. I think Ichiro will get us the most bang for buck and maybe even put up a fantastic season given we need him to be strong in the lead off role10. Who will give you the most head ache
a. Ah I think I regret taking Brian Roberts but we shall see in a few days
