Welcome to town David Wright.
Growing up in New Jersey in love with the Mets it’s a true dream come true as a grown adult to acquire David Wright in a video game in adulthood. He was never in any of the MLB the show games until last year and I got a bit burnt out on the game anyways. So this was my big chance to bring that dream to life. We here in Colorado are glad to have made it happen.
How did we get here you might ask? Well from the moment I took the team I started offering for the superstar 3B in his prime. Eduardo the GM of the Miami Marlins told me to F off and that he was untouchable. Little did he know that I would be relentless in my pursuit. I offered maybe 4 or 5 times inclusive of stud pitchers and future star SS Troy Tulo Tulowitzki. Eduardo remained vigilant in his denial of my trades. After acquiring stud young star 1B Freedie Freeman and seeing how into the draft gripes the Miami organization was I decided it was time to come with my best offer yet, one that I was afraid was a massive blowback overpay (after getting 2 early deals voided). Freddie Freeman, Aramis Rameriez and Pick 11 (likely future star pitcher) for the great David Wright. That is what we did and the reactions are mixed but the Colorado GM now has his diamond forever. A loyal superstar in his prime at a tough to play position! Let it rip!
Wright as a player is a GMs dream. Let’s dive into it a bit. I mean he has Brilliant Hits, Doubles, Homers and walks. I will be sure to camp him up in strike outs so he is a bit more disciplined at the plate but damn if we can get those hits up to 10 he will be amazing. At age 28 Captain America is also one of the best 3B in the league with A range defense and great steals. In 2010 he stole 44 bags with 24 homers. This coming year we are projecting a 40/40 season out of Colorado. Wright is loyal and locked up for 4 more years. We know that once the day comes he will resign with us at a controlled cost once again to finish his career in Denver where he recently bought a massive home with his beautiful wife and kids.
For now expect to see Wright starting at the hot corner third base and batting third in our lineup. He is projected to be an allstar here and will be put in every position to succeed during his tenure with our squad. We hope to work with him to raise his BA and stay healthy for a full season since we are only a year removed from a big ole injury!
