Atlanta Bennett were swinging in this game scoring a total of 12 runs on 13 hits. May 8 was a forgettable night. The Padres put up six runs against the Braves and Ruppe took the loss giving up six runs and 7 2/3 innings. May 9 Atlanta traveled to Cincinnati take on the Reds. The Reds look like they were going to roll early jumping out in early three nothing lead in the bottom of the second. After that bud kind of settled down and then all of a sudden the brave started going runs to the sixth two and the seventh two and the eighth and then just give me a break seven in the ninth. Final score was 13 to 5. Bud Smith improved to four and three on the season.
May 10 was game two of the Reds versus Braves series. Alvarez for the Braves went out and stunk up the place giving up six runs in seven 2/3 inning with his ERA skyrocketing to 3.81 on the season and dropping his record to three and four. Only bright spots were Reyes, Sanchez, Guerrero, and Lee still bases in the game.
May 11, another game with the Braves, taking on the Reds. Braves pushed out hard on the mound to go against say for the Reds. Harden went all nine innings not giving up any earned runs however, the Braves committed a couple of errors, allowing the reds to score 2 on earn to ruin the complete game shut out. The Braves bats were popping a little bit scoring seven runs out 11. Carlos Lee hit the home run for the Braves. Reyes Sanchez and San all had stolen bases.
May 12 the final game in the Braves Cincinnati series. Ruppe was going against Carpenter for the Reds. Ruppe went the distance only allowing two hits in the nine innings pitched improving his record to three and five on the season and lowering his ERA to 3.17. Hopefully this is signs for good things to come since he has been pitching. Horrible this season. Sanchez hit a home run. Reyes, Sedeno, and Lee all had stolen bases.
May 13, Miami headed to Atlanta. Bud Smith La another egg giving up four runs over eight innings pitch. Dropping his record to four and four on the season. The Braves bats just were silent, and they feel like crap allowing three errors. Miami easily won this one 5 to 2. 61,727 fans came out to watch the Braves lose at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. Saturday, May 14, Alvarez took the mound to take on Wang against the Marlins in Atlanta. Alvarez again had a subpar night giving up four runs over 6 2/3 innings and again the Marlins won 5 to 3. Less fans turned out only 59,793 to watch the Braves lose again at Atlanta Fulton county stadium. May 15, Harden took them out for the Braves against Kazmir for the Marlins, and it was all Marlins. The Braves bats didn’t even bother to show up got three hits didn’t score run.
