It was the St. Louis bullpen that let them down when Villanueva exit the game, it was a scoreless game. The top of the ninth the Braves struck for three runs. Bud Smith when 8 2/3 inning improved his record to five and five and lowered his ERA to 3.17. Valverde came on for the final out to get his eighth of the season.

St. Louis won the game versus the one that Atlanta scored and prevented the sweep. Dicky drop to three and three on the season and did not help his 5.24 ERA.
