The American League Player of the Week award goes to Charlie Blackmon, Los Angeles (A)'s starting leftfielder. Blackmon helped his team with an average of .467 and 9 RBI in 30 at bats. TEXAS - Texas' lefty Mark Mulder experienced probably the worst case scenario for a pitcher, a season ending injury. After pitching in the 1st inning of the game against Toronto, Mulder complained about serious pain in his throwing arm. He had to leave the game. Texas wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Mulder had suffered a Torn Tricep Muscle. In 18 starts this year Mark struck out 126 batters in 126 innings of work. His ERA is 3.21, his record 10-5. Mark has pitched 3 shutouts and 5 complete games.
Saturday 7/8/2011: Rafael Furcal (TEX) will miss 6 weeks
