And now onto the NL teams!
NL East
Chicago Cubs:
Round 1 pick: P Jim Rooker
Round 2 pick: P Mel D. Queen
Round 3 pick: P Gary Waslewski
Round 4 pick: P Paul Brown
Round 5 pick: 1B Bill Roman
Matt started his draft by going with Jim Rooker 15th overall. Rooker will be a stud with a walks increase, but will need at least a few years in the minors before being major league ready.
In the 2nd round, Matt went with Mel Queen, who has good talents across the board, but also has E duration. Furthermore, he will also need years of development before being relevant for the Cubs. Matt then selected Gary Waslewski in the 3rd round. Waslewski is a walks increase away from having as much potential as Queen. Both could definitely use some duration work.
4th round pick Paul Brown looks to be excess pitching depth. 5th round pick Bill Roman will probably be a minor league lifer.
Matt had a solid draft and has some pitchers that could certainly become useful for the Cubbies in the future.
Cubs 1st Round Pick Grade: A
Cubs 1960 Draft Grade: A-
Philadelphia Phillies:
Round 1 pick: LF Rico Carty
Round 2 pick: P John W. Morris
Round 3 pick: CF Roger Repoz
Round 4 pick: C Bill Heath
Round 5 pick: C Joe McCabe
Round 6 pick: P Bob Sprout
Rico Carty's versatility makes him that much more valuable.
Oren and Alon's draft began with selecting Rico Carty 14th overall. Carty can not only catch, but play at first base and all over the outfield as well. He is quite versatile and can be useful for Phillies in many different ways. And that is why I really liked this pick in particular.
John Morris was the Phillies' 2nd round pick and with some duration work and maybe a lucky PD or two, he could be useful later on.
I'm not too big on the Phillies' 3rd round pick, Roger Repoz because of the fair hits, so for now, he'll project to be no better than a bench player.
4th round pick Bill Heath is backup catcher material. 5th round pick Joe McCabe and 6th round pick Bob Sprout have already been released.
Again, the Gur brothers made a great 1st round pick, but not a great 3rd round pick. The 1st of course holds a lot more value, so they'll get the benefit of the doubt.
Phillies 1st Round Pick Grade: A
Phillies 1960 Draft Grade: A-
Pittsburgh Pirates:
Round 1 pick: RF Art Shamsky
Round 4 pick: CF Ron E. Davis
Round 5 pick: RF Billy Ott
I took Art Shamsky 16th overall. He obviously will need a hits increase to become a great hitter, which I may do soon. I've already taught him 3B, so he will be somewhat versatile going forward.
I traded both my 2nd and 3rd round picks in separate deals to the Indians. 4th round pick Ron Davis is decent. I might keep him around or I might not. We'll see I already released 5th round pick Billy Ott because he sucks.
I like my Shamsky pick generally speakinng, but of course having no 2nd or 3rd round pick will hurt me this time around.
Pirates 1st Round Pick Grade: A-
Pirates 1960 Draft Grade: B
St. Louis Cardinals:
Round 1 pick: LF Lou Brock
Round 2 pick: P Gary Dotter
Round 3 pick: P Gerry Arrigo
Round 4 pick: P Tom Timmermann
Round 5 pick: SS Ray Oyler
Round 6 pick: P Rupe Toppin
Matt got just who he wanted in this draft.
Matt was able to select a personal favorite when he took Lou Brock 11th overall. Brock has already gotten a good PD to his walks as he develops toward one day being an elite HOFFBL base stealer. Brock should be ready by 2-3 seasons from now.
In the 2nd round, Matt went with Gary Dotter. Dotter could use a walks increase, but should still turn into an effective lefty reliever. He then took Gerry Arrigo in the 3rd round, who has nice ratings and got a walks PD of his own earlier.
4th round pick Tom Timmermann will need some PD luck to be more effective. 5th round pick Ray Oyler and 6th round pick Rupe Toppin will keep the benches warm in the minors.
Matt had a solid draft as he tries to retool the Cardinals for the future.

NL West
Cincinnati Reds:
Round 1 pick: P Ray Washburn
Round 2 pick: SS Jim Fregosi
Round 3 pick: C Billy Bryan
Round 4 pick: SS Marty Martinez
Round 5 pick: 1B Santiago Rosario
Round 6 pick: P Leo Marentette
Where is Jeff? I feel like I've asked this before. Anyway, Jeffrey took Ray Washburn 10th overall. Washburn has nice ratings, but is on the older side for a draftee. His number ratings though are in good shape, so he should be ready in a couple of seasons ideally.
2nd round pick Jim Fregosi is versatile around the infield and with a hits increase (you gotta spend those points eventually Jeff!), he could add his name to the list of great Reds hitters.
3rd round pick Billy Bryan was an unfortunate auto for Jeff, but a hits increase and a good PD at some point could make Bryan a better backstop. Right now though, he's no better than a backup.
4th round pick Marty Martinez could be a decent utility reserve. 5th round pick Santiago Rosario and 6th round pick Leo Marentette could get cut at this point.
Jeff's draft was decent, but the Bryan auto wasn't the greatest auto ever.
Reds 1st Round Pick Grade: A-
Reds 1960 Draft Grade: B-
Los Angeles Dodgers:
Round 1 pick: P Marcelino Lopez
Round 2 pick: P Tommie Sisk
Round 3 pick: SS Gil Garrido
Round 4 pick: 2B Marv Staehle
Round 5 pick: SS Mickey McGuire
Jeremy's draft started with taking Marcelino Lopez 19th overall. A walks increase and some duration work would make him a better player, but at 16 years old, he still has years and years of development to go.
2nd round pick Tommie Sisk already suffered a negative PD to his home runs, walks and duration, but if he gets lucky with better PD's later on, he could be more useful.
In the 3rd round, Jeremy picked Gil Garrido, who looks like a future backup infielder, if not minor league lifer.
4th round pick Marv Staehle and 5th round pick Mickey McGuire are no better than dead weight.
Jeremy has a decent draft overall, but with late picks every season, the expectations bar can't really be set as highly to be fair.
Dodgers 1st Round Pick Grade: A-
Dodgers 1960 Draft Grade: B
Milwaukee Braves:
Round 1 pick: P Pat Dobson
Round 2 pick: RF Jim Northrup
Round 3 pick: P Dale Willis
Round 4 pick: RF Doug Clemens
Round 5 pick: 2B Jerry Buchek
Round 6 pick: LF Dean Look
To start his 1st draft since returning, Darryl selected Pat Dobson 9th overall. Dobson has quite a bit of developing to do but could certainly turn into a part of the Braves' future.
In the 2nd round, Darryl selected Jim Northrup, who has mostly average talents and unless he gets some PD help, he'll probably be a backup outfielder.
In the 3rd round, Darryl went with Dale Willis. Willis looks decent, but not great and will likely turn into excess pitching depth.
4th round pick Doug Clemens will probably stay in the minors forever, as will 5th round pick Jerry Buchek. 6th round pick Dean Look already got released.
Darryl's first draft with the Braves was ok, but not particularly great.
Braves 1st Round Pick Grade: A
Braves 1960 Draft Grade: B
San Francisco Giants:
Round 1 pick: P Sam McDowell
Round 2 pick: P Frank Linzy
Round 4 pick: 3B Bobby Cox
Round 5 pick: P Bob Meyer
Round 6 pick: 2B Joe Jones
Sam McDowell was the 1st overall pick in the 1960 draft.
With the #1 overall pick, Spencer chose Sam McDowell. McDowell has already gotten a walks increase and should turn into a huge part of the Giants' future. I personally would've at least considered Dick Allen, but then again, brilliant hits are very rare for a pitcher here, so this was a great pick for the Giants.
Spencer then selected Frank Linzy in the 2nd round. Linzy has great ratings and could get converted in the future, and Spencer is quite the expert with converting, so we'll see how that goes, if it happens.
Spencer traded his 3rd round pick to the White Sox. 4th round pick Bobby Cox looks to be a subpar player, but should be a long managerial career ahead of him later on. 5th round pick Bob Meyer will be excess pitching depth unless good PD's come his way. 6th round pick Joe Jones is taking up space in the minors and should get cut.
With top picks each round, Spencer did very well overall and McDowell is a stud.

Houston Colt 45's/Astros:
Round 1 pick: P Pat Jarvis
Round 2 pick: P Tom Phoebus
Round 3 pick: P Ken Sanders
Round 4 pick: C Jim Price
Round 5 pick: P Alan Koch
Round 6 pick: P John Braun
Jenn's 1st ever draft kicked off with selecting Pat Jarvis 5th overall as the first Colt .45 in team history. Jarvis has good ratings and should become a big part of the team's future.
She then got Tom Phoebus in the 2nd round. Phoebus has a lot of developing to do and could use a walks increase once Jenn has enough points to use. Still a very solid pick.
In the 3rd round, the Colt 45's got Ken Sanders. Sanders could become the team's future closer and could use a walks increase himself.
4th round pick Jim Price should become a future backup catcher. 5th round pick Alan Koch looks to be extra pitching depth and 6th round pick John Braun just simply sucks.
Jenn now has a good pitcher to build her team around in the future and Phoebus should become useful as well.
Colt 45's 1st Round Pick Grade: A
Colt 45's 1960 Draft Grade: A-
New York Mets:
Round 1 pick: C Joe Torre
Round 2 pick: 2B Ike Brown
Round 3 pick: P Thad Tillotson
Round 4 pick: 2B Phil Gagliano
Round 5 pick: C Paul Casanova
Round 6 pick: P John Flavin
Brooklyn native Joe Torre became the first Mets player in history.
I started off my first draft as the soon-to-be Mets GM by taking Joe Torre 6th overall. I wanted a hitter in this draft and really liked Torre, whose home runs I will eventually increase to good. His hits are 5 overall, which means he should be major league ready by the time the Mets get started in 1962. I can't wait for that to happen!
I then went with Ike Brown in the 2nd round, whose hits I will increase to good after Torre. I'll be more likely to put him in the outfield than second base.
In the 3rd round, I selected Thad Tillotson. Tillotson has nice ratings and once I increase his duration more, he should be a future piece of the Mets' starting rotation.
4th round pick Phil Gagliano will probably end up being my super utility backup. 5th round pick Paul Casanova will turn into a backup catcher at best. 6th round pick John Flavin will be the very first player I cut in 1962.
I liked this draft generally speaking. Torre will be a big part of the Mets' future and Brown and Tillotson both have potential as well.
