CINCINNATI - Vladimir Guerrero is among the best pure hitters in the game, but his 5 hit performance seemed to surprise even himself. Number 1 in the 1st inning accounted for a double. A 419 foot drive to right-center marked his 2nd hit, a two-run homerun off Bobby Keppel in the 3rd inning. A three-run double off Bobby Seay in the 9th inning accounted for his 5th hit. Wednesday 5/15/2013: Cliff P. Lee turns in great performance against Texas
TEXAS - Cliff P. Lee took the mound and never left. And Texas hitters couldn't touch him at all. Minnesota's left-hander gave up just 2 hits in his 2nd shutout of the season. He now has 23 career shutouts in 318 games started. Lee (4-2) fanned 2 and walked none, throwing 91 pitches. 'They took some ugly cuts at my breaking stuff, so I kept throwing it. Fortunately they were not able to adjust in time.' Minnesota's designated hitter Sean Burroughs finished 1 for 4, blasting a homerun, and collecting 3 RBI.
