Sorry, I had meant no one stepped up with a be-all end-all perfect solution. Probably because there is none. That's my point =) ... So I guess I don't get the negative banter if there is no perfect solution to begin with.

No perfect solution doesn't mean that some aren't better than others. Again, not a knock against you, you put up some options for vote, and the league voted a certain way.

Ok. Sounds good! I suppose I should have worded the polls "what features would you support or suggest?" instead of "vote for which methodology I should use"
I was looking for input, instead I asked for you to pick. Meh.

I always assume that a commish will make the final call, even if the vote doesnt go that way.
Unless the polls questions are ridiculously one sided no one really agrees on anything.
Pick one...
Blow job from Kaye Upton.
Blow job from Chris Berman.

Yea, I find it ironic, but not that it's a bad thing. GABL needed changes because it caught up with real time and we're caught up in that twilight zone. No one, including myself, stepped up with a solution. There will never be a perfect solution. I will have the same problem with HOFFBL when we catch up to real time. Not true. I proposed a number of ideas. Most were pretty radical. Stuff like completely starting over. Some kind of universal reset of financials. Contraction. Changing games to a fresher version of OOTP, regardless of what changes me made. My ideas were met with very little support, from Commish (honestly don't remember who it was at the time, maybe Chris, but I honestly don't recall) all the way down to the owners that show up for their top 5 draft pick every year, and a handful of exports. The people voted, and they didn't want the changes. As for why I was for change then, and don't appear to be now? Easy.....that was a good time to make radical, wholesale changes. Implementing what I consider to be minor, needless, often times intrusive "fixes" that aren't addressing the problems at all? I don't like it. But K already knows that. Sorry for having this discussion over here Chris. Wasn't my intent. I like what you've done with this league, and I was ready for the fresh start HERE, in this league. When you can't get the big radical change through, I think it's better to try and move inch by inch than just not do anything anymore at all. How will sticking by the state you radically wanted to change fix anything? You take advantage of a situation when it arises somewhere down the line, bide your time. You fight the battles you can win. Take for example minimum thresholds for financial fields, recently merchandising income. Even if minor (and it wasn't all that minor, nor intrusive), poorer teams now are better off. So, even if marginally, the financial issues were somewhat tackled. It did address something. Is it in any way fixed completely? No, but they do have it a little better. It seems that since there has been no support for any radical change you proposed to the many problems you perceived (I liked the contraction idea btw but that ship has sailed as long as there's enough owners), that you've gone the entire opposite way and become the primary blocker of any attempt to change anything, with a mantra along the lines of "The league has worked fine as it has for years, it isn't broken, why change anything, stop proposing new rules". It is funny to see you post about the wholesale changes you wanted to make to fix the league's issues and then more recently find posts by you claiming the league isn't and wasn't broken. You're the most vocal defender of the status quo in GABL right now.

Definitely excited for the final results. Wanna try and map out which direction Im going. Even now Im wondering if maybe Maricial is a better choice over McCovey. Pitching seems tougher to get.

He would logically look better as an Astro, but the fact is he had more GP, GS and IP as an Angel.

As close as those games are, I'd say both teams would have a say if they wanted him.
Oddly enough, I pretty much know him exclusively as a Ranger. lol

A big thanks to Matt for not closing this topic because were talking about other leagues. Hey, whaddayaknow, that's the exact same policy as in GABL! In fact, initial discussions about this league took place on the GABL board. I don't know Matt's position on discussions on other leagues being used to initiate personal attacks, settle old scores, lob insults at each other and generally ruin forum atmosphere and drive people away however. Perhaps he feels different about that than I do.
