SAN DIEGO - Brandon Moss led San Diego to a 11-2 win over Pittsburgh by squeezing five hits out of his bat. In the 1st inning he unloaded a three-run homerun off Miguel Asencio. In the 7th inning he belted a double off C.J. Wilson. A pitch from Zack Britton in the 8th inning left his bat for a two-run double. He had singles in the 3rd inning and in the 4th inning . Brandon scored 2 runs, and he collected 5 RBI as well! His 5 hit performance increases his batting average to .244.
Saturday 8/31/2013: Paul Goldschmidt out for 5-6 weeks
ARIZONA - Arizona's first baseman Paul Goldschmidt will miss at least 5-6 weeks after he got hurt seriously while running hard toward second base. He began limping and then fell down, causing a scary moment for his teammates. He had to be carried off the field. Arizona wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital.
