Braves Beginning of April
April 10, Atlanta out in LA to take on the Dodgers. Bud Smith got them start for the Braves when eight innings picked up his first win of the season. Valveri came on and got the save. Reyes, Lise, Sanchez, Lee, canis, and Jones all had stolen bases all total the Braves had, seven stolen bases on the night with only one runner being caught. The Braves scored four runs on 11 hits in the win.
April 12, Philadelphia Atlanta. Myers was on the mound for the Braves pitch. Just good enough to get the win. The variety came on and got the save even though he gave up one run. Was doing pretty good job when eight innings only allowed to earn runs for his first win of the season Jacobson for the Braves hit a solo shot in the eighth inning. Reyes, Lise, Jones, and Adams all had stolen bases. 49,378 fans came out to Atlanta Fulton County Stadium to see the Braves win.
April 13, Philly still taking on the Braves. This was one heck of a pitching duel with Alvarez going for the Braves going against Gonzalez for the Phillies. Braves jumped out to two run lead and the bottom of the third and that’s all they needed as they cruise to the Nguyen tried to get the complete game but he ended up giving up a run in the top of the ninth so Valveri came on to close out the game. 59,779 came out to Atlanta county Stadium to see the Braves win this amazing pitching duel.
April 14, Atlanta travel to the desert to take on the diamondbacks in Phoenix. Myers got the start for the Diamondbacks going against Rich Harden for the Braves. Rich didn’t give up on a single earned run however Braves fielding cost him two runs for a complete game shut out. With the win, he improved one in one on the season and his ERA is 1.04. Hit a solo shot in the first inning to get the Braves going. Jennings, Lee, and Jacobson all had stolen bases.
April 15, Atlanta still in Arizona. Bud Smith took them out for the Braves and never look back pitching a complete game shut out for his second win of the season. The Braves bats got going early runs in the first second then adding more in the fifth, the sixth, and seventh inning. Jennings, and Lee both had home runs in the game. Reyes, Sanchez, and Jennings all had stolen bases.
April 16, another game between the Braves and the Diamondbacks. Carrie would got the start for the Braves. He went eight innings, only allowing a single earned run and improved his record to one and one on the season. Varity came in in the ninth inning and closed it out for his fourth save. Karns, and Jennings both had home runs for the Braves. Jennings and Jones had a total of three stolen bases in the game.
April 17 Atlanta going for the sweep in Arizona and they did it. Myers took them out for the Braves. He went seven and the third innings only allowing a single earn run to improve to two and oh on the season Sanchez had the only run for the Braves it was a 31 shot in the ninth inning to really pound pile on the scoring. Reyes, Kearns, Lee, Jacobson, and Adams all had stolen bases in the game. Braves ran away with this one scoring eight runs and winning by seven.
