Braves end of May
May 16, Atlanta in town to take on the Phillies in Philadelphia. Rich Harden was again a hard luck picture going nine innings for the Braves only allowing to earn runs however, that was only enough to send it into extra innings. The Braves finally prevailed in the top of the 11th inning, scoring a run and Came in to get the Nguyen. Sanchez was the hero of the game hitting the Homerun and the 11th inning to put the Braves ahead for good. Lise, Sanchez and Jones all had stolen bases.
May 20, the Mets came to town to take on the Braves in Atlanta. Alvarez took them out for the Braves went seven in a third inning allowing one earn run over eight hits. With the win, he improved a foreign four on the season. Val Varity pitched the ninth inning to get his save and his 14th of the season. Reyes and Lise both had stolen bases for the Braves. 55,218 fans came out to Atlanta Fulton County Stadium as the Braves tried to chip into the Mets lead over them in the NL East.
May 21 was a marathon game. The Mets went up early had a two nothing lead and then the Braves countered with two in the bottom of the eighth. It stayed that way 22 until the 19th inning when both teams scored a run sending it to the 20th inning. Eventually the Braves got the win. Harden was the hard luck pitcher for the Braves going nine innings allowing to earn runs, but got no decision. Sanchez tied the game up in the bottom of the 19th inning to push it into the 20th inning with a solo shot. Guerrero tied up the game and the eighth inning to force it into extra innings with a two run shot. And eventually was the hero of the game driving in a run in the bottom of the 20th inning to give the braves the win. this game lasted six hours and 28 minutes as 58,470 fans came out to Atlanta Fulton county Stadium to witness this marathon.
May 22 Atlanta was on the road taking on the Pirates in Pittsburgh. Bud Smith got the start for the Braves win eight innings only allowed a single earned run and improved to eight and one on the season. Valverde came in for the ninth inning for his 15th, and now his ERA is an unbelievable 0.46 on the season. Kess, Lise, Sanchez, and Jones all had stolen bases for the Braves.
May 23, Atlanta still in Pittsburgh playing the Pirates. Would took them out for the Braves pitch a solid eight innings improved six and two on the season and lowered his ERA to 2.01. Jennings had a homer in the inning with Tuan. Sanchez, Jennings, and Jones all has stolen bases collectively having four of them on the game. The Braves walked away with this one pounding the Pirates for a nine run win 10 runs on 12 hits.
May 24, the Pirates made the game interesting as they jumped out to an early three nothing lead in the bottom of the first inning.. The Braves crawl back into it’s going to the top of the second and then tying it back up in the fifth inning scoring run. at this point, the game really settle down and scoreless the top of the 15th inning when the Braves scored another run to give them the winning margin. Go arrow had two home runs in the game the first one and the second inning a two run shot to get the Braves closer , and then ending the game with a solo shot in the 15th inning. Sanchez had two stolen bases to go along with a stolen base by Lee and Adams. All in all those three were 445 on the path tonight.

Jennings and Cordero both had two home runs in this game. The Braves scored nine runs on eight hits. Sanchez, Jennings, Ann Jones all had stolen bases.
May 27, the Miami Marlins were in town in Atlanta taking on the Braves. This was one heck of a pitching duel. Kasmir was going against Harden and the first one to blink was going to lose. That proved to not be the case. Hard and blink first giving up a run in the top of the first. Kashmir look like he was gonna come out of this pitching with Nguyen however he gave up a run in the bottom of the eighth for it to be tied up and then gave up another one in the bottom of the ninth as the Braves won. The Braves scored two on four. The Marlins squandered so many only getting one run on six hits. 58,456 fans came out to Atlanta Fulton county Stadium to see this pitching Door.
May 28, another Marlin versus brave matchup in Atlanta. Both pictures went the distance, but this was not quite the pitching duel the night before had been. Went nine innings only allowing run to improve the season and lower his ERA to 1.60. Sanchez had a home run for the Braves.. His ERA has also dropped down below two and is now at 1.90. Guerrero had two home runs, and Sanchez added another one for the Braves. Reyes, Jennings, Lee, and Adams all had stolen bases as the Braves went five for six for the night on the base path. 63,002 fans came out to landfall and counting stadium to witness the Braves defeat the Marlins.

The Braves pounded the angels scoring 14 runs on 17 hits.
All totaled the Braves went 22 and seven on the season as they continue to ship away at the New York Met lead in the NL East.
