What the fuck do you all want from me? I tried to spend the Pirates' Christmas gift immediately, but Chris said I had to let Stooolfan do that himself after the flip. If Chris told me I was required to do some sort of talent increase for the Pirates or something, I would've done it but no such talks occurred. The Reds and A's have both been over the cap before and the A's currently have 155 points on them, but no one's complaining about them. No...it's only because the Lierman brothers don't happen to like me that they try to get me in trouble of their personal vendettas towards me. Unfuckinbelievable. Yes I have such a well known vendetta against you. Remember how my vendetta led me to have your back when you were being labelled as a draft cheat in GABL. I was totally out to get you. Save your drama shale. I don't care who it is a cap should be firm. Again, I wish you would have gone after Noah at the same time as me. It just looked a little personal because this was only directed at me. And I remember that GABL situation. Idk I've had more problems with your brother in the past than you anyway.

Yup, but we spoke about this because of the unique situation when someone takes over another team. I'm sure Mark will have the same issue when he takes over the Blue Jays. If he has 150+ points right at the flip, I'm not going to have a problem with that. I'd probably want the max amount when starting out with an expansion team. I don't post a million times a season and write two dozen articles...so doubt I'll be at 150 at that point and even I am Id follow the rules and stay below and I'm going to say if you happen to go over, the banker will remind you to spend it ASAP. that is all

Ok Mark and Darryl, I'm sorry I overreacted, but I keep the spreadsheet updated all the time, so I would've thought everyone would notice I was not the only team over the cap at one point. Also, where was everyone when this happened? hoffbl.proboards.com/post/18788

If I know I can go over people will plan for that advantage. Keeping it a max with no exceptions will give them no advantage to underspending.

Exactly....I can pretty much plan to abuse the white sox my final few years if I go to toronto...not spend any points on them..no reversals nothing cause I know i'm taking it to toronto.

See for me, doing talent increases last season for Pirates made no sense. But important reversals made perfect sense because not only was I competing, but it's also just common courtesy. I didn't think talent increases would be looked at in the same way.

No worries Shale we all get fired up sometimes. I'll leave this to Chris now. I think let those over spend down to cap and never let anyone over again.
While I will never agree with all decisions I do respect to them when they are honestly explained as Chris does.

Ok I could do like a holding tank of points for anyone at 150 then so they don't end up losing anything. Maybe bend the rules a bit at the end of the season? We should all discuss this more.

Points gained in the end of season stuff shouldn't count towards the hard point cap imo.
it's just common sense.

I've earned 37 points in the last week, and folks may well have noticed that I've not been around much over the holidays. These points will get spent. And soon.

Why should he be allowed to not use points earned by Pittsburgh players...hoard them to go over the cap then spend them on a new team? If it's this big of a deal then have a rule change instituted about spending points to stay below the cap on a year that an owner is switching teams. In the meantime, let it go Mark. You've made your point. He should be allowed to use them because it was his team and largely players that he either drafted or acquired during his tenure. They're HIS points. I'm sure in the future that he'll be more aware of it.

Doesn't mean I wont reply with my side of the matter when others do as well.
