Cubs send CL-Jim Brosnan to the Yanks in exchange for 1B/OF Mike Lum (A) and the Yankees 2nd round draft pick in the 64 Amateur Draft.
Really would have liked to have re-signed Brosnan, but he wasn't interested in coming back, and despite the fact that we're playing decent ball, we're still not contending this year, and I've always felt like closer/reliever is one of the easier positions to replace, so we'll take the couple of prospects in exchange. Brosnan has had a filthy year playing for the contract and we appreciate the effort.

Please call up Gene Bacque and put him in the 4th RP/1st mopup reliever positions. Please assign Lum to A ball and make him my DH in place of Roman and just slide him in to that 5th spot in the batting order.
