General Notes
Teams may place a player on waivers for the purpose of judging interest on a player, sending a player from the Active Roster to the minors if said player refuses to do so outright or to release a player to a team willing to assume the contract.
Teams who desire to waive a player may do so by placing the intent on the Waivers board with a thread created with the player's full name. The Commissioner will confirm the status of the waiver prior to the following regular season sim, provided that at least 24 hours have lapsed, as follows:
If no team has claimed the player:
The posted player has cleared waivers. If the team desires to release said player anyway, such intent must be posted on the Release board. If the team desires to send the player to the minors, such intent must be replied to the Commissioner's post confirming that the player has cleared waivers. If there is no action taken, the default action is the player being pulled back and will remain on the Active Roster. The team may state their intention in the opening post.
If a team has claimed the player:
The posted player will not have cleared waivers. The waiving team's only options are to 1) pull back the player, 2) work out a trade with the claiming team or 3) release the player to the claiming team with the claiming team assuming the player's contract. If there is no action taken, the default action is the player being pulled back. The team may state their intention in the opening post.
If more than one (1) team has claimed the player, the team with the worst record in the same league, then the worst worst record in the other league will be awarded the player. Prior to June 1st, the previous year's records will be applicable.
Waiver Limitations
A team may waive a player up to two (2) times in any one (1) season, as more fully described below:
1st time: If a player is placed on waivers for the first time, said player may be pulled back.
2nd time: If a player is placed on waivers for a second time, said player may not be pulled back or traded during the waiting period, that is, prior to the Commissioner confirming the claiming team. If no team claims the player, the player will be released and become a free agent. If the waiving team and the claiming team can to agree to a trade, said player can be traded. If there is no trade agreement, said player is released to the claiming team.
The "Gur" Rule: Teams may not retract or delete claims once they have been posted.
