I guess Willie Stargell, Dave Parker and eventually Andrew McCutchen would be the obvious choices.

Willie Stargell (1958): Value: 2 * (7.9 + 7.2 + 5.3 + 5.2 + 4.8) = 60.8 = 61 Ratings: G/G/F/B/G/F with D speed, E steals
Dave Parker (1970): Value: 2 * (7.4 + 7.0 + 6.7 + 6.3 + 4.7) = 64.2 = 64 Ratings: G/G/G/A/F/G with C speed, C steals
Andrew McCutchen (2005): Value: 2 * (8.2 + 7.2 + 5.4 + 3.7 + 2.3) = 53.6 = 54 (Still Active) Ratings: G/G/G/G/G/A with B speed, C steals, B range
It's a tough position to be in, and maybe even a conflict because if you pick someone, you force one of your opponents (specifically the very same Pirates, from your perspective as the future Mets GM) to not be able to use as many points in the future. If you don't, you may be construed as not looking out for the team. However, Stargell is pretty darn good, so I would not be concerned if you decided to keep him or not. But you may be able to draft him outright at this point.

Yeah that's true. If I keep tanking for all this time, drafting Stargell myself could very well happen.

Stargell will get reserved in 1958 unless the Pirates end up with the worst record

I'm gonna talk to Dave soon, but I definitely feel it's in the Pirates' best interest to reserve Stargell in the upcoming 1959 draft.

The other options are just shitty in comparison. Parker and McCutchen are nice, but far from definite FPR locks...

10 for the reservation, 61 for the WAR... Chris can figure out the draft stuff, but you're slated to pick 12th. ...am I going to get a rewards point windfall out of this? Whom to spend on next...

For Stargell, who is ranked 10th, being reserved by the team selecting 12th...
Reservation Fee + Player Value Fee + Draft Day Jump Fee
10 + 61 + 2 = 73 FPR pts
