Catfish Hunter (1964) Value: 2 * (8.1 + 6.9 + 5.6 + 4.7 + 2.7) = 56.0 = 56 Ratings: G/G/G/G/A with A endurance
Reggie Jackson (1966) Value: 2 * (9.2 + 7.8 + 6.7 + 6.5 + 5.7) = 71.8 = 72 Ratings: A/G/A/B/G/F with C speed, C steals, D range, but will be CLUTCH!
Vida Blue (1967) Value: 2 * (9.0 + 7.7 + 5.8 + 5.0 + 4.7) = 64.4 = 64 Ratings: G/G/B/G/A with B endurance
Rickey Henderson (1976) Value: 2 * (9.9 + 9.9 + 8.7 + 6.9 + 6.7) = 84.2 = 84 Ratings: G/A/A/A/B/G with A speed, A/B steals, B range
Tim Hudson would be eligible for Braves, sorry
Mark Mulder (1998) Value: 2 * (5.8 + 5.6 + 4.7 + 3.0 + 2.6) = 43.4 = 43 Ratings: G/A/G/G/A with A endurance
Barry Zito (1999) --- It's debatable if he should be Giants, but I'll post value/ratings anyway Value: 2 * (7.2 + 5.3 + 4.5 + 4.4 + 3.4) = 49.6 = 50 Ratings: G/G/G/G/A with D endurance

If anyone is A/A it's Rickey and Raines.

Do you want:
OF Jose Canesco (1982) 1B Mark McGwire (1984) 1B Nick Swisher (2002)
?
I haven't checked to see if they are eligible for the A's yet.

Pity that Catfish, Reggie, and Vida are so close together. Makes it unworkable to grab two under the rules framework.

Pull McGwire. Canseco is a strictly inferior version of him, IMO, so probably no need there.

A's reserve LF Rickey Henderson.
Cost will be 10 + (2 * (9.9 + 9.9 + 8.8 + 6.9 + 6.7) = 84.4 = 84) + (14 - 2 = 12) = 106 points
A's will forfeit 2nd and 3rd round picks in 1976 draft.

All franchise players should be LOYAL in my opinion. Ricky is only AVG.

All franchise players should be LOYAL in my opinion. Ricky is only AVG. Rickey was with like 10 different teams in his career. I get your point but average loyalty makes perfect sense for someone like him.

What would Canseco cost me? You have 94 points in your bank (previously used 106 points for Rickey); Your current pick is 8th and Canseco is ranked 8th overall Cost is: 10 + Top 5 WAR, times 2, rounded + number of picks jumping So Canseco would be: 10 + (7.3 + 5.4 + 5.3 + 3.1 + 3.0 = 24.1 * 2 = 48.2 = 48) + (8 - 8 = 0) = 58 58 points. This will leave you with a balance of 36 points. After loyalty and 2 point bonuses beginning in 2000, you should be able to get someone decent in the mid 2000's and on.

What would Canseco cost me? Just to keep the future in mind, McGwire: likely A/B/B hits/homers walks Jason Giambi: either A/G/B or G/B/B (.277 career avg and 32 HR/season could go either way in my opinion) 2 strong options to consider. I'd go McGwire personally. Really depends if Giambi gets good hits or not. Giambi stuck around an additional 5 seasons as a pinch-hitting specialist, so those seasons in my opinion should be kept in mind and shouldn't drag down his career numbers too much.

1B Mark McGwire reserved; fee is 10 + (7.5 + 6.5 + 6.4 + 5.7 + 5.5 = 31.6 * 2 = 63.2 = ) 63 + (7th pick - 7th rank = ) 0 = 73 points.
Athletics forfeit their third round pick.
