Minnesota and the Cubs and completed a trade:
Minnesota sends
SS Bert Campenaris 2nd Rd pick in 1968
Chicago (N) sends:
LF Joe Pepitone SS Jose Pagan 1B Andre Thornton (AA) 2.5 million cash
Thanks for the easy trade, Chicago. Man I'm going to miss those SBs, just not the 30 errors...

We accept. The hope of course is that the 30 errors goes down considerably and we end up with a top of the lineup bat. King of an interesting deal when Minny approached about Pep and Thornton. I had already decided to move one of Pep or Mack Jones and possibly both, but I felt like Campy was probably a little more valuable than Pep long term. Initially my thought process was that I'd move Thornton for a protected 1st rounder in this years draft, but I felt like the move down to a 2nd made up for getting a little more value in Campy in a position that I really had no long term answer for. Campy's acquisition made Pagan expendable. Easy deal, appreciate it Minny.
