The Angels have decided to add 29,570 seats to their LA's Wrigley Field in the 1970 offseason. This will put their seating capacity up to 50,027 starting in the 1970 season. General Manager George Andrews said, "in order to compete you need revenue and 20k fans a night isn't gonna cut it." There will be an increase in Ticket prices by +$1, which was expected, fans shouldn't complain too much as parking is still free.
The Organization had received alot of complains over the last few seasons from fans because they wanted to watch their team play at the ballpark but aren't enough seats to satisfy the local fan base. "The fans want to watch is boys play, and who are we to argue with the fans," said Ace SP Nolan Ryan.
With young Aces in Nolan Ryan, Tom Hall, And Mickey Lolich making a name for themselves,as well as Veteran Arm Mudcat Grant leading the way. The fans want to show up to the ball park and witness what could be an championship winning rotation for seasons to come.
Young sluggers like Bobby Bonds, SuperJew Epstein, and Jose Cardenal coming into their own and slugger George Foster coming off a season ending injury. The Angels future is bright and fans are going to want to show up for years to come and now they can.
There is also a strange intoxicating smell floating around the ball park that seems to bring upon a sudden hunger for food from time to time. The addition of Taco bell, Jack in the box, and an IN-N- OUT...Vendors should be pleased with the added foot traffic. Stomachs should be satisfied. Wallets will be empty by the 7th inning.
There is definitely excitement in the air around LA(could just be the girl acout cookie) and it's not the Dodgers...
"Watching baseball should not cost an arm and a leg. To watch men play a kids game and pay ridiculous prices is in itself ridiculous. I think what the Angels Organization has done here is Yuuuge. Increasing the seating capacity and lowering ticket prices a Dollar. Concessions are a dropping in prices as well. Fans will actually want to come to a game and spend their hard earned money." Said Sen. Bernie Sanders of this great day in Angels history
