Jen and I will be taking an extended break from simulation life to enjoy a few weeks of "regular" life with our daughter. We will check in periodically to communicate with Matt C. or Chris on roster issues. This will not be a permanent leave of absence. I have discussed with Chris and Matt what is going on with our family. We feel that we should share just a bit for you have to have insight on the challenges we face.
Our daughter, Lexi, has some challenges ahead. She will be hospitalized at the end of the month for 3 days of procedures (she is hoping Uncle Matt comes to visit in the hospital). We hope at the end of that and a few weeks of medications the problem will resolve. This is not a life threatening problem but easily can be if not addressed. If the few weeks (maybe months) of trying to reset her system does not work then she will have life altering surgery that takes the life of a 8 year old from being normal to a "new normal".
So from today till she is admitted we are having fun. We have had a vacation planned to North Carolina which we will still do next week. Then we come back to start a week of vacation bible school and then her birthday. She has looked forward to these 2 and half weeks so we are going to make sure distractions are eliminated and make this her month.
I just wanted to give you a heads up to why we have not been around recently or in the near future.
