Last sim is probably Sunday, if not that night given the tight races. I would like to sim the playoffs before I leave for a mini-vacation Thursday morning.

Wednesday 9/21/1971: California's Nomura severely injured
CALIFORNIA - California's Katsuya Nomura suffered a serious injury Wednesday in a game against Washington. Nomura fell down while running the bases and couldn't get up without help. He will miss probably 4-5 weeks. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Pulled Groin Muscle. Katsuya is hitting .243 this year, with 116 hits in 478 at bats. He has driven in 53 runs, slugging .391.
Monday 9/19/1971: Rose Sr. and Colbert win Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the American League goes to Detroit's Pete Rose Sr. this time, as the shortstop displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Pete went 13 for 26 (.500), while hitting 3 HR and collecting 9 RBI. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now. It's the 1st time that the National League Player of the Week award goes to Philadelphia's first baseman Nate Colbert. Nate went 13 for 25 (.520), while hitting 1 HR and collecting 12 RBI. His season features a batting average of .274 (143 hits in 522 AB), 23 doubles, 2 triples and 20 bombs. Colbert collected 84 RBI and 73 runs as well.
