File and pages are up. The next sim will be when the 4 winning teams post that they are ready. Please post/PM your game 1 starters. I say this because when you do not export and I pull in exports, it usually resets the "next starter" to the starter number from the export, which might not be the one that is next in line if I otherwise did not pull in exports.
I anticipate file flip to be Monday or Tuesday night, so get your last minute roster moves, reward camps and extensions in. Please note that I will do the SP/MR/CL check BEFORE file flip, so do not spend too much time trying to switch people around because I will undo it!
Breaking News
Sunday 10/9/1972: New York (A)'s Don Mincher hits for the cycle
CHICAGO (A) - Don Mincher is a pretty good hitter, but his 4 hit performance seemed to surprise even himself considering that the hits added up to the cycle, one of the most difficult things to accomplish in baseball. In the 2nd inning he unloaded a two-run triple off Mike G. Marshall. In the 4th inning he belted a double off Mike Lee. A single in the 6th off Cy Acosta accounted for his 3rd hit. A pitch from Jerry Bell in the 7th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 429 feet from home plate in left-center. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Don did drive in 3 while scoring 4 runs on his own. He's now the 34th player in league history to hit for the cycle! Johnny Bench was the last player to hit for the cycle, doing it 9/14/1972.
Thursday 10/6/1972: Nolan Ryan turns in great performance against Minnesota
CALIFORNIA - Nolan Ryan had some fun again. Minnesota hitters did not. California's right-hander gave up just 2 hits in his 2nd shutout of the season. He now has 8 career shutouts in 138 games started. 'Well, the ball went where I wanted it. I was able to hit the corners with all of my pitches.' Ryan (24-8) struck out 8 and issued 2 BB, throwing 60 of 107 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for California was first baseman Mike Epstein, he collected 2 hits in 2 trips to the plate, hitting a homerun, stroking a double. The final score of the game was 2-0.
