Cubs trade OF Jeff Burroughs, SP Pete Broberg and Cubs 2nd round pick in the 1974 amateur draft to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for SP Andy Messersmith.

I've had a logjam in the OF for a while here, little concerned about my SP depth with age and free agency creeping in. This gives me a pretty solid top of the
rotation, hoping I can re-sign him in a couple of years.
