Anyone considering reservations can refer to the list below; if there is a non-top 10 player you are considering reserving, let me know. A couple players split time pretty evenly between teams, so I based it on their WAR with each team.
You guys have until 8:00 AM SATURDAY MORNING to reserve a player! Feel free to PM how this works; otherwise check Constitution.
Potential Reservations:
1. SP Mark Fidrych (DET) 2. 3B Masayuki Kakefu (None) 3. SP Dennis Martinez (MON) 4. CF Dale Murphy (ATL) 5. CF Dwayne Murphy (OAK) 6. SP LaMarr Hoyt (CHA) 7. SP Dave Frost (CAL) 8. SP Larry McWilliams (PIT) 9. SP Ed Whitson (SDG) 10. SP Mike Norris (OAK)

So if I wanted Murphy I would be automatically forfeiting the 11th overall pick, correct? I doubt I want to do that, just curious.

If you wanted Murphy, you would be using your 11th overall pick to reserve him. By moving up "2" spots from 11 to 9, you would USE your 11th overall pick and forfeit your 3rd round pick.

Fidrych would cost me my 1st, 2nd, 3rd & next years 1'st? Is that right?

You have the 23rd pick and he's ranked #1; so to move up 22 spots, you would USE your 1st round pick and forfeit your 2nd, 3rd and next year's first, yup.

This timing works out perfectly for me because I should be finishing my next rebuild around the time Pedro/Nomar come around. I'm considering taking Manny instead of Nomar who knows.

So it only once you're allowed?

So it only once you're allowed? You can do it twice with elite players pretty much. Murphy is solid but the braves historically just have at least 3 or 4better options.

They're close but manny can actually play defense, that is whenever he chooses to. The younger manny also had quite a bit more speed than Ortiz ever had.

Updated to account for Dale Murphy gripe. He moved up from 9 to 4. It will change the Braves cost to forfeit 2nd round pick instead of third round.

I just read the thread on the FPR rules. I suppose Shale's right, and I should hold off for someone better.
