Welcome to 1975! We have a new owner for the Mariners and we will need a replacement owner for the White Sox shortly; you will note that the Mariners and Blue Jays are already included in the amateur draft. I will announce who will hold these players shortly (usually it is a same-league team with poor minor league rankings such that the players will have playing time --- definitely the Red Sox for the Blue Jays, maybe the Angels for the Mariners).
I have opened up the board for the 1977 Expansion stuff; so go ahead and post a preliminary 15-man protection list. It is not due for another 3-4 months.
File and pages are up. All of the trades, financials, team settings and TEAM LOGOS are corrected; messages and exports have been cleared. Only thing I really need to do is check the minor league team names. Please note that the amateur players have NOT been touched yet in this file. I am waiting for Matt to finish up the relievers this week and I will work on putting them in this weekend probably. Looking to get started on FA/Ammy on Sunday night, though thinking about it, more likely to be Tuesday night.
Feel free to export FA offers; they will not get lost as we make updates in the file because I do not import FA offers until the actual sim --- importing offers and then posting a file allows other teams to see who has a favorite offer and it would be possible to top an offer by simulating (you do not need commish powers to sim FA).
Winter meetings can begin! Now is the time to rethink strategy, make trades and propose rule changes.

Yeah K. used to use that method to cheat as the commish in GABL As Commish, he didn't have to do that. He could simply look at other teams and see what they offered. And I don't think that is true Chris. I can't sim a FA day, it asks me for a pw. There is a way (it doesn't always work) to do what you are suggesting, but it's not by simming FA days. |

Sorry, you're probably right Jeremy (by then I've already put in the commish password, so I can't tell). What I should have said is that you could take the file with favorite offers (carried over from the last sim) and you would then make your own offers ... before exporting, you can click on "Favorite Offers" and you can tell whether or not the player now likes your offer compared to the one that carried over from the sim. Anyone can do this, not just the Commish. Now we can't avoid that in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th sims, but I definitely want to avoid that in the first sim if at all possible. But yea, I could just look at another team and I am often asked to input offers via PM/text. That is why I will put in my offers first, then check my messages and manually put in offers for other teams. I have no fun whatsoever if I were to cheat. I did not enjoy |

I am going to defer to Mark, White Sox owner, if he plans to run out his time for 3-4 more months and then take over the Blue Jays, or give up the White Sox now. In a perfect world, who is your favorite team? |

Just a quick update on the draft class. It's all finished except for the last 37 relievers. I'm going to TRY to work on them and have them done by the end of the weekend between drinking and watching hoops. I've been trying to actually rate some of the pitchers in this class that in other years I may not due to their very limited MLB experience just because it's a very shallow draft. I'd hate to get in to the middle of the 3rd and be picking a bunch of P/P/P/P/P guys. Goal is end of the weekend. It may be sooner. I have a couple of hours this morning to work on it, so I may be able to have it down to about 25 by the time hoops starts back up. Tomorrow is certainly a possibility.

I got the file and I am working on it now. I hope to get most of the batters up but the plan is to put a new file up tonight to reflect a couple trades and a new user/pass for the Orioles.
Plan is for FA to begin WEDNESDAY night. I want everyone to have enough time and I am busy with work --- training my replacement!

I am waiting for a final determination regarding the Blue Jays. Depending on the conversation, either the Blue Jays, White Sox or the Braves may open up for you.
