So I was thinking of proposing this after looking at BBSL's version of tanking rules. I feel this would solve the problem with tanking while a team still can be picking anywhere 1-4 if you are the worst team standing's wise.
So there are two options,
1. lottery for 1-5, 6-24 are reverse standings. #1 team can be worst #4 pick 2. lottery for non playoff teams, reverse standings for playoff teams. #1 team can be worst #4 pick
I prefer 1 better because I would hate to see a team with 85 wins who just miss the playoffs get the #1 pick, but it's up to everyone obviously.
The other decision is with odds. If doing idea #1, would you guys want it so #1 has the highest odds and #5 having least, or doing 1-5 has equal odds, just a food for thought
Discuss!

I really can't stand the idea of lottery. Teams get fucked all the time when they need the help by it.

Just so unrealistic. Seems unfathomable for a league that strives so much for reality.

I'm not a fan of draft lotteries myself. We used to have it in LBB, but I got sick of it once I saw the same teams randomly get #1 picks multiple times despite not having the absolute worst record. Granted it's all probability, but still, that's enough lotteries for my liking.

And if anything, top 5 is stretching it for the lottery proposal. I'd cap it at no more than the top 3. Luckily going from 5 to 1 would be bullshit.

I voted no for 1 reason: I've always been competitive and close to the top of the division and playoffs. I finally decided to give rebuilding a try. I don't want my top picks changed because of a lottery. I suck at those and never win.

I voted yes but we should consider a rule like the nhl used for its draft lottery where a team can only jump a maximum of 3 spots and fall a max of 3 spots.

If we think a team is tanking, especially in multiple seasons, we should simply address that. We don't need a lottery to do that.
We still have owners that don't do squat with their teams, don't reverse PD's to good young players, don't spend their points wisely, and wonder why their team never improves.

Bbs leagues have always modified rules and changed things. Hoffbl has been pretty historically correct.
Seems like a pretty obvious take.

I thi k the bbsbl system is more realistic tbh. At least it allows people to not get penalized by setting win totals that allow you ro not fwt penalized.
And the bbsbl system is in place for the same reason. Yeams tanking too much.
Bad luck for me that after 20 years i decide to tank to replenish my takent and new rules are invented to prevent it.

I do like the idea of a lottery system but the franchise player can already throw a kink in something like that. If anything make it very simple you can't have the number one pick (before franchises are in) in consecutive years. If you are deadlast two years in a row you automatically move back a pick.

If it's happened in real life (which it has) then it shouldn't be punished here.

We'll revisit in a couple seasons, but probably not. Thanks for voting!
