Team management gathered for a press conference to officially close out what was a breakthrough season for the Milwaukee Brewers. Among the topics discussed were make their first playoff appearance, the emergence of young stars like Yount, Hernandez and Rogers, increased team revenue and the unveiling of the Brewers Hall of Excellence.
Owner Darryl Lierman said tot he gathered "Milwaukee is a city that has a great tradition of baseball going back to the days of the Milwaukee Braves and all the way to now with the Brewers. We wish to honour past greats who have contributed to to that tradition and helped but the Milwaukee on the map as a baseball city."
The information released by the team advised that in order to qualify for the hall players had to have appeared in Brewers uniform and made a meaningful contribution to Milwaukee Baseball in some way.
The inaugural inductees are expected to be announced next season prior to the Brewers home opener.
