And I spoke with Break to confirm the ramifications. He understands. Which means everyone is tanking in 1987 (Pedro signed as an amateur free agent with the Dodgers in 1988). Then maybe he should just be allowed to sign with the Dodgers in 1988. For a league that strives for realism, that's as real as it gets.

To be fair their most famous player was from before 1920 lol but yeah I franchised Stargell with the Pirates for a reason. The other options like Bay, McCutchen, Kendall, Bobby Bonilla and Doug Drabek just aren't really good enough to franchise. And of course bonds will be a Giants option.

what a garbage franchise longterm i feel bad for fans of them They were good in reality in parts of the 60s 70s (won 2 titles) and briefly in the early 90s but other than that, they've had a lot of down years. They are like a smaller market version of the Mets in a way except even less postseason success in recent times.

if we had started a few seasons earlier like i think we had originally voted. Roberto Clemente would have been a sure fire franchise for the pirates.
