Atlanta Braves have secured the services of Dale "Murph" Murphy. A clean cut kid from Oregon that played catcher, with a cannon for an arm but unfortunately just couldn't hit 2nd base on steal attempts, and has since been moved to OF / 1B. We will see if he proves to be the kid the Atlanta Braves see as their savior.
"I knew when I got here there was one thing I had to do and that is bring Murph here" brianh said when announcing the trade, and continued with "he has the tools to be a back to back MVP, hit .300+, steal 30 bases, hit 30+ HR's, score over 100R, and have 100+rbi's in one season, while dominating the outfield. The Braves just wouldn't be the Braves without Murph on the team."
Now can this clean cut kid be the guy the new GM touts, well there has been nothing to suggest it thus far, and they gave up a stud to get him, which had most of the baseball world scratching their heads after they saw the trade. If the Murph wasn't so young, people would think there was some kind of nastalgia going on, and Murph was brianh's fav player ever, alas since Murph only has a couple seasons in the minors, that couldn't possibly be it.
