While single A ball is a long way from the majors, you have to wonder about the talent that Tex and Atl have in their lowest level farm teams. Greenwood, home to the Braves single A affiliate is enjoying non stop winning with a NL best .753 winning % and already has 61 wins.
Texas' A team, the Tourists of Memphis make the Greenwood Braves seem pedestrian as they have the best professional record this season with 64 wins.
As good as both teams are, record for most wins by a professional team does not look to be in jeopardy, as all baseball lovers know the 1934 LA Angels of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) had 137 wins. Then again no leagues play 188 games anymore.
I wonder if ever there has been a league championship since that pitted the best team (LAA) against the rest of the leagues all stars... LAA won 4 games to 2 though J DiMaggio couldn't play for the all stars because of a knee injury.
