File and pages are up; the deadline for roster moves, extensions, releases and reward camps is WEDNESDAY NIGHT at 8:00 PM EASTERN. I will reverse the career-enders, if there are any, as well. The actual flip will probably be a couple hours later as it takes time to do so.
The off-season is going to take a little longer than usual as I need to do the ammy players. Our schedules are loaded this time of year!

Saturday 10/29/1977: Cy Young Award winners announced
Awards may not be the most important thing for Bob Reynolds, but Boston's right-hander smiled as he was named the American League Cy Young Award winner. This season Reynolds compiled an ERA of 1.83, going 25-7 in 33 starts. He fanned 145 while giving up 200 hits in 279.2 innings. He has 22 complete games and 5 shutouts. He's 1st in the American League in ERA and 1st in wins! The National League Cy Young Award winner was announced today as well, with Los Angeles (N)'s left-hander Marcelino Lopez taking home the desired trophy. He certainly earned it, he struck fear into hitters all year long. Marcelino has a record of 24-10 this season, with an ERA of 2.47. In 306 Innings he was able to strike out 208 batters. He has 13 complete games and 4 shutouts. He's 2nd in the National League in ERA and 1st in wins!
Saturday 10/29/1977: Matthews Sr. (BAL) and Madlock (SDG) win Most Valuable Player Award
Baltimore's leftfielder Gary Matthews Sr. will never forget this day. A great season convinced the voters that he is the worthy American League Most Valuable Player Award winner. He has hit 50 bombs while batting .321 this season. His 181 hits and 115 walks add up to a .438 on-base percentage. He's 2nd in the American League in batting, 3rd in homeruns and 1st in RBI! It was a day to remember for San Diego's Bill Madlock, who won the National League Most Valuable Player Award today. It put the finishing touches on what has been a tremendous season for the slugger. His season numbers are: .318 AVG, 194 hits, 32 doubles, 5 triples and 30 bombs, along with 106 RBI and 116 runs scored. He's 5th in the National League in batting, 5th in homeruns and 4th in RBI!

Getting an award is a nice way to start a career. Toronto's Jason D. Thompson smiled as he was named the American League Rookie of the Year Award winner. His season features a batting average of .328 (173 hits in 527 AB), 32 doubles, no triples and 22 taters. Thompson collected 100 RBI and 88 runs as well. He's 1st in the American League in batting! Mike Scott was named the National League Rookie of the Year Award winner today. Houston's pitcher put up pretty good numbers for a rookie this year. This 22 year old kid will probably have a long and successful career! This season Scott compiled an ERA of 4.27, going 16-10 in 32 starts. He fanned 152 while giving up 198 hits in 225.2 innings.
