In a trade that caught the clubhouse by surprise, Boogs was traded back to Baltimore along with P Doug Capilla. It seems everyone thought Boogs was going to be with the team till he retired as he was a rare combination of amazing defense to go with a damn good bat.
Coming to the Braves is the raw talent of C Gary Allerson
The Braves hitting coach said he would be working with Gary to get his hitting talent improved, as defensively the kid is already pretty dang good.
Asked for a comment about the trade, Boogs replied "This was my choice, skipper came to me and said the Orioles were asking about me as they are trying to get a ring next year and thought I would be great at helping them do so. If I was interested the organization would work something out to give me the opportunity to get the ring they new I desperately wanted. I want to thank all the fans for the last two years as they have been amazing to me."
So there you have it baseball fans, Boogs is gone and now the question is, who will take his place? Whoever it is, has some big shoes to fill.
