P. Van Wiener WTCG ATL So Baltimore pulls the trigger one more time bringing home a stud to add to their already potent pitching staff with Ken "Kemer" Brett from ChiCubs. With Bostons most dominant starter going down (Bob Reynolds) for a short period of time it seems to have opened a window for Baltimore to take the lead in the division. With the trade of Brett, the Cubs have all but waved the white flag on another season. The surprising thing was the trade was done shortly after the cubs had brought in a couple relievers from the twins in hopes of shoring up their middle relief woes. SFran picked up a real nice pitching prospect from StL in Larry McWilliams while sending a potential all star closer Dennis Lewallyn too StL in return, along with a guy that could be a starting 3B on day, the Oberman, Ken Oberkfell. The one Blockbuster trade was Atlanta sending Rudi to Milwaukee, and since the trade Mil has been beating the tar off their bats. Currently the AL Div leaders are Baltimore Detroit California and the wildcard race is Boston and Milwaukee tied with the WSox only a game back. Also Boston is just a game back from Baltimore Philly and Atlanta still are going toe to toe, but it looks like Atl has a really tough schedule upcoming that might finally put to rest their playoff ambitions. 6 straight against the dodgers at home, followed by 4@ Philly and 3@ SD.
