P. Van Wiener WTCG ATL
Like the recent number 1 hit by the rolling stones "miss you" (#1 during the week of July 30 – August 5 ), the Braves have been missing Larry Bowa at SS. His glove and range are what the team needs, and unfortunately neither of the backups bring a ton to the position via range or fielding %. Right when they need him the most during the teams toughest stretch, he is still out injured, but will be returning the last game against SD
P. Dobson is looking mortal this season even though he looks normal, he just is getting hit, even when the batters shouldn't be swinging. The team just resigned him for 2 more years, and baring injury, he'll still easily get 10+ wins each of those seasons. After having time off for two injuries so far this season, the team is hoping he will be able to continue on without any further lost games.
The surprise of the season on the pitching staff has been Mike G. Marshall, who much like V Romo last year is having a career year and through 21 starts is 11-3 with a 2.19 era.
The rookies on the team have really added something to the lineup, however I doubt either will be in contention for rookie of the year.
UL Washington had a career in one game, alas the consistency to perform at the top level just hasn't been there game after game. When he gets hot though... you best call your local asbestos dealer as that will be the only way to survive the heat he generates...
What Jim? (Jim is the producer)
Oh Asbestos was banned last year (1977) for use in the US.... OK so correction people, do not try and buy asbestos
UL is currently batting 279 with 30+ stolen bases.
one of his fellow rookie is Paul Hartzell, who also made the NL all-star team. For most of the season he has been absolutely amazing, however the month of July, he seemed to think he was suppose to throw batting practice during for the opposing teams. Over all for the season he is 14-8 with a sub 3 era.
And with that Baseball fans we'll leave you with this, the current #1 hit in this US of A, today, August 16th 1978
