My surplus of bats, dearth of pitching--accentuated by Parker's FA departure--and lack of FA money requires some wheeling and dealing. The first domino to fall is moving Hendrick to PIT in return for Jim Palmer. Palmer was the best pitcher right now offered to me, and I get a payroll deduction to boot. I do not like moving Hendrick, but his performance vs. salary made him expendable. Good luck to PIT!
