Oakland's 7th Cavalry moved into the 1979 free agency/trading market looking for hostiles that could be friendly or at least willing to make deals. A couple of large camps were nearby and others were a bit farther away. Although an experienced unit, the 7th Cav was not accustomed to this ootp5 area of operations. Some hostiles were quite friendly... such as the milwaukeans and the yankeans. Others were not so easy to deal with. Why some hostiles... while asking to deal with the 7th were so difficult is an unknown to the the GM of the regiment? They would move forward with peace pipes and offerings of shiny objects and furs... but in the end would haggle for the 7th's most prized possessions. An old horse or a brave scout to trade... well give me your rifles, horses and gatlin gun to trade. What says the 7th's commander... this is an outrage. Why did you offer peace? Why do you want everything for just a little something? Why are you trying to pull one over on an experienced commander and his unit? We ride toward an encounter with another GM hostile camp...
Custer knows what to do... this should end up ok for the 7th and it's leader. Stay tuned.

What? I have studied the battle, the location, the soldiers, the Native Americans and everything else about the Little Big Horn. Nothing is 'offensive' about mentioning the 7th.
I completely disagree... but delete this entire thread if you wish. Or don't post in it... your choice.

Sorry I took it the wrong way... I am a big military history buff. Have not been to the fort but I have looked at the battlefield on google maps and such to know it like the back of my hand.
Sorry again, Greg

sorry for the drunkin prose btw, was saying (in an elitist tone) you could only talk about the 7th if you had visited where I went to HS, as all good scholars of the 7th should start at the beginning...

Sorry again, Greg and in no way did I mean it as "offensive" in anything other than a playful way my apologies for what was meant to be a playful statement.

That is funny because I tried to party New Years Eve like a youngster (I am 53)... took all day yesterday to get out of bed. I was still foggy when I read your post. Please forgive me. Lesson learned on the tequila shots, cranberry vodkas and etc...... Whew.
