Welcome to 1980!
File and pages will be up in an hour or so (getting a head start on messages since I have chores this afternoon). Financials, team settings will be checked and I will also clear messages and exports. As per usual, please note that the amateur players have NOT been touched yet in this file. I will work on the ammy players over the next week or so.
I will post a schedule, file flip points and ammy draft order shortly, but in the meantime, plan on NEXT TUESDAY being the EARLIEST we will start FA/Ammy.
Winter meetings can begin! Now is the time to rethink strategy, make trades and propose rule changes. Feel free to export FA offers; they will not get lost as we make updates in the file because I do not import FA offers until the actual sim --- importing offers and then posting a file allows other teams to see who has a favorite offer and it would be possible to top an offer by simulating (you do not need commish powers to sim FA).
Trading is OPEN again.

I'd like to propose that we have an age cutoff limit for reversals of 38.
It would help keep the record books on a closer playing field as we move forward but still allows GMs to maintain a player through the normal big pd hit years if 36 and 37.
Option two would be an increased point deduction for reversals over age 35.

I think it's already expensive enough where you can't just do it on everyone you have to save it for your true stars

I had to let Conigliaro and Osugi take hits last year to keep Kato and Richard at their peaks.

No idea actually. I think it means more 5-man rotation, frequent use of relievers, less stolen bases?

Modern Baseball, 1980+ Bunting: Normal Hit & Run: Normal Pinch Hitting: Often Use Relievers: Very Often Pitcher Endurance: Fair Typical Rotation: 5 Men vs. Baseball Boom, 1961-1979 Bunting: Often Hit & Run: Often Pinch Hitting: Not Often Use Relievers: Often Pitcher Endurance: Normal Typical Rotation: 5 Men So compared to previous seasons: - Bunting and Hit & Run are going to be less frequent - Pitch Hitting will occur much more often - Relievers will be used more often - Starters will not go deep as much Might be slightly less steals depending based on less frequency of failed hit & runs

Updated file and pages with more trades and some more amateur players (C & 1B yesterday + 2B & 3B today). Will try to do SS/LF tomorrow, CF/RF Thursday, start pitchers Friday. Finalize pool on weekend, start FA/Ammy on Sunday/Monday?

Just realized that the Angels are the only AL West team in this alignment to ever make the playoffs. That's crazy...time for someone to flip the script!

Hitters done. Top heavy and not much after top 4 or 5. Might need to boost a couple players and will base it on longevity or first round selections. Goal is at least 2-4 5*, 4-6 4.5* and 6-10 4* overall.

Finished pitchers. Ugh, hate doing relievers.
