Straw should have average loyalty imo. 8 years with the mets before his Dodgers Giants and Yankees stints. Should be more than reasonable.

Straw wanted to stay but when he saw the mets' offer he felt insulted. Again I feel you but there's 2 perspectives to this.

He helped us get swept by the Angels in our last postseason until 13

He helped us get swept by the Angels in our last postseason until 13 ummm... he played for the cardinals in the postseason of '09 He was released by the Sox in august....

The team might have a better (and cheaper) player coming up. A player might be injury prone and keeps trying to hang on, bouncing from team to team. I don't think it's fair to have a hard rule saying that playing for more than 3 teams means you chase money. You could be chasing playing time and opportunity as well.

Loyal needs to be saved for players who literally spend their entire career with a team and maybe only leave near the end of their careers to chase a ring. Roy Halladay being a good example of this.
