Although other offers were quite impressive, this package best fits my desire to improve this year's team, stay competitive for the next couple of years, and build for the future. McGlothlin slides right into Monte's rotation spot until he retires, Sosa will take over as closer, and Nixon fits with our future of gap hitters with speed. The cash takes care of the salary difference for the rest of the year. Thanks to Matt for a good negotiation and good luck!
