Why post this shit? Pm this so it doesn't affect other people's trains of thought. I didn't even notice until I had already selected my pick on the site, but damn man this name dropping shit needs to stop now. Huh? How is this a big deal? My pick was two away and there were about four arms with identical skill sets. Obviously if I had a specific guy I coveted I wouldn't have posted it publicly. It's the basic principle of name dropping that should be illegal on all counts. Sets a bad example for new gm's that are more lazy. Do what you want, but if I ever see any name dropping, I'm calling it out. Snitches get stitches. One of the most important mottos in life. |

Everyone is expected to use the draft list on the site on their own and name dropping can singlehandedly alter another gm's draft choosing. It's the compromising of integrity that should be frowned upon.

I understand the concept, but this far into the draft I don't think listing names of two nearly identical, average players is anything to get hostile about.

Yeah, I guess I get that it could help another GM who wanted to know how I value players but the main person who would be getting screwed is me. And it's not that much different from asking a rival GM to evaluate a trade for you.
Honestly, I've done the same thing in other leagues and while I usually avoid it for obvious reasons I figured it would just move the draft along quicker if I posted in the thread.

Name dropping is an unwritten rule but given the situation I don't think this was one of them (mid 2nd round, 2 man list 2 picks away, similar talent).
I don't have a problem with what happened.
