Thursday 7/21/1981: Don Sutton quiets Atlanta bats with shutout

He now has 58 career shutouts in 462 games started. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him.' Sutton (8-3) fanned 7 and walked none, throwing 107 pitches. San Diego's leftfielder Bobby Murcer stroked 1 hit in 4 AB, hitting a homerun, and driving in 2 runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Sutton.
