Pete: Hey Braves fans, it's Skip and Pete here with another wrap up for the last two weeks in Braves baseball.
Skip: The last two weeks have brought us to the seasons midpoint, and when I say the Braves have been playing well, well it's an understatement, they have been playing fantastically awesome, including 9-3 over the last two weeks with a 3 game sweep of the NL West leading Giants.
Pete: Reggie continues smacking the ball and is still in 3rd place for the league with 16, and Tom, well he is still going out and giving the team a great chance to win when he takes the mound, and on his last start had a complete game shutout, his first of the season.
Skip: With the specialization of baseball Pete, I've been noticing fewer and fewer complete games by pitchers and many less shutouts per season.
Pete: Yeah Skip, that has been the trend the last couple years, I doubt we will ever see anyone hit 6+ complete game shutouts such as what Tom Terrific did on a regular bases just a 6 -8 yrs ago.
Skip: Well going into the all star break the Braves have a commanding 11 game lead over the Philly's, but the Philly's do look like they are a playoff hopeful. If the season was to end right now, they would be the wildcard team.
Pete: With as well as the Braves are playing, could lady luck be waiting outside the door?
