Pete: Hey Braves fans, it's Skip and Pete here with the Braves All Stars.
Skip: No surprise here, but the starting pitcher for the NL will be none other than Tom Terrific.
Pete: He's 11-3 with a 1.88 ERA on the season and just makes opposing teams look foolish. Surprisingly this is only the 5th all star game that he is going to.
Skip: Next up is Tom Housman, who just like mr Terrific has been lights out this season. Currently 10-3 with a 2.00 ERA, this Tom also has been rock solid since his sophomore year in the league and just shuts other teams down. This will mark Tom's second straight year representing Atlanta in the mid summer classic.
Pete: The last Braves pitcher not getting the day off is of course the Rolaids reliever of the year for the last two years, Doug Corbett. He is making his second appearance getting the nod with 22 saves and a 1.85 ERA. Some say he should be in his third straight all star games, but ce la vie, as he said last year, "while it's an honor, my goal is World Series saves, not all star games..."
Skip: Joining them are Reggie and Gene Richards. This is Gene's second time going and 5th time for Reggie, though how he wasn't sent before representing the Braves is hard to fathom since he only lead the league in home runs last year and finished 1 back from the lead the year before...
Pete: Gene has been rock solid, hitting 301 with an additional 8 dingers to add in. He is second in the league with 43 stolen bases.
Skip: When the players hit the field, there will be 48 stars waiting their chance to represent MLB in the 81 all-star game, just 3 more than the stars on 45... that had the number one song last week
