(Just trying to rationalize why my garbage team suddenly turned into a powerhouse the second I left.) it didn't the first year I won the east cause no one else wanted it and I played just above 500, the second year had 77 wins, the third yr was again everyone else sucked and had a magical run through the playoffs to make the WS with a fairly mediocre team, the 4th year Philly had a melt down and I got in plus I got Seaver last minute. Housman I used my xmas bonus to make housman a stud, corbett had a creat PD, and I spent xmas bonus on him to make him not shit, as he was shit for clutch. this past off season I got a shitload of players free agent,plus the 2 trades bringing in Roenicke and Jackson, the trade for Murph that everyone thought was shit... expanding the stadium to increase revinue, writing a shit ton of spam articles for points in boost player etc etc... |

I knew my old Pirates team was gonna explode under Stool's watch when I left to take the Mets. He then won 2 straight titles in 65 and 66, but I was the architect for around half the team so I was happy to see them finally win after losing in 1959 while I was there and again in 62 the season after I left. Credit to him for doing a great job acquiring Frank Robinson, Albanese and a few other key veterans for his back to back titles after I laid the groundwork.
