Chipper and Maddux imo you'll only get 2 chances really thinking Smoltz and Maddox, Smoltz should be BGBBB and Maddox should be BBBBG I only think brilliant hits should occur for a pitcher if the hits/9 rating is like 7.5 or below. I didnt give Maddux brilliant hits and I suggested to break in BBSBL to make smoltz GBBGG based on hits/9 homers/9 walks/9 and strikeouts/9. I've never agreed with using the ootp rating chart to determine talent ratings because ootp 5 itself is sorta off in a few areas. Chipper tho I think might get brilliant walks in addition to brilliant homers and good hits. And why you think smoltz should have good doubles despite brilliant hits and homers makes no sense. Doubles ratings are literally the average of hits and homers talents so if both are brilliant, then doubles are automatically brilliant too. Not that smoltz will likely get the ratings you proposed but just something to keep in mind. You're a curious dude so i figured you'd find the player creation shit to be fascinating.

Maddux Chris might make an exception for because he was one of the true all time legends. Smoltz is a notch below that so can't see brilliant hits for him.

Maddux Chris might make an exception for because he was one of the true all time legends. Smoltz is a notch below that so can't see brilliant hits for him. did ya know career wise smoltz hits /9 was lower than maddox, was doing B for hits based on the others in the league that have B for hits as they are. You look at smoltz from 96-03 he was 73w 38l 2.93 110sv 7.6h/9 0.6hr/9 2.1BB/9 8.9K/9 D Ekersly has brilliant for hits, and above them, the only reason his hits/9 are so low is he was a reliever for so many years... J Bibby... brilliant hits... I said G for doubles on smoltz just to give maddox a leg up in a category as he has 7 straight seasons of sum 2.4 era including 2 seasons of sub 1.7 era. Maddox, smoltz and glavine were amazing with mediocrity for supporting cast. I guess gooden will be ggbag

reserve John Smoltz
fee: 10 + 10 (less than 5 yrs) + (7.4 + 5.9 + 5.5 + 5.0 + 4.8) * 2) = 57.2 + (20th pick - 3rd rank = 17) = 94
