I just got my computer wiped and upgraded to Windows 10. I downloaded the first HOFFBL file and extracted without issue. But I can't get a new one to overwrite it...or at least the original file is still showing up when I open the game. I feel like there is a trick to dealing with this, but I have long forgotten it. Any ideas?

Any ideas? usually you need to run the game as admin, close it, then input the new file, and then run it as admin again, and it should unstick.

always run the game as admin after putting a new file in on windows 10 or it might glitch and stick to a date.

Any ideas? uninstall ootp5 and then install it to c:\ootp5 or whatever so that non of the stupid window permissions f with you. basically your OS is blocking whatever compression utility you use (winzip 7z etc) from overwriting files in program files

I got it after I set it to run as administrator. I learned this long ago, but it's been awhile since I had to do it. Just needed the reminder, thanks!

So, new problem. My machine has an admin account, but I do have admin rights. However, Windows 10 wants me to provide an admin password every time I open OOTP because it is from an unknown publisher. Anyone know a workaround for that without eliminating the blanket app security protection?
