Ah, the old "Take out all his bad seasons and he was really good!" argument. in this league good equates to .255-.270 for the most part... was he in that range? could he even get close to 300 in that range? Lifetime .263, so...................yeah

Ah, the old "Take out all his bad seasons and he was really good!" argument. and btw that takes out his early years when he was prol brought up too soon, and has 92,93,95,96,97,98,99,00 so yeah no consistency what so ever... He was one of the original, less extreme, 3 true outcome hitters. HR/BB/K. That's who he was.

I was gonna argue for Bichette to get brilliant homers possibly, but I know the Coors Field argument would quickly shut that down lol. Sucks that IRL, Walker and Helton are gonna get shafted for HOF voting because of the stadium they played in more than anything.

I consider. 280+ to be considered good, but more than likely if .275-.279 or so, I'll round up

So players that flamed out because of injury and had short careers should get better... longevity is killed by the game as it is, I mean Nolan Ryan will have no chance of competing to the ripe old age he did because of the game. Who cares why someone quit, as the league is what it is, and a player shouldn't be judged differntly than another just because he had longgevity. Mac had multiple seasons above .300, and avg doesn't allow for that... Unless we implement a roid clause for the sims Dude, he had one full season above .300. Two seasons, one with less than 100 AB's and one with less than 250 also I believe. That's it. This is where I have to be careful because I want to scream "did you even watch him play" but then I get accused of being get off my lawn guy. That being said, DID YOU EVEN WATCH HIM? He was not a .300 hitter. Without roids he probably doesn't sniff it in the just under two total seasons that he hit .300. Lot's of guys have hit .300 in less than 100 AB's. Lots of bad hitters. nope never watched bb at all in that time lolz... yeah his .299 season was just so far away from .300 avg. if we take away roids players then it needs to be a rule. as for lots of guys argument, that's why I look at min 3500 AB / 1200 IP before presenting a case one way or another, because that shows what a player was capable of, and invalidates the "oh it was just a one off".

Love this.
I'm still on the fence on Big Mac, but leaning towards leaving him at AVG. One thing that would benefit in addition to a minimum floor, is being consistently at .290 or so, then I'd do "Good"
In any case, fred can always bump him if I don't. Or he may naturally bump through PD as long any negative PDs are reversed, which will be cheap in the first few seasons. One way or another, he's going to be Good.
