It should come to no ones surprise that after the voters robbed Doug of the award in 82, that when he came out and just blew away all competition on every bench mark, our very own Doug Corbett would gain the reliever of the year award for a third time in his short stint in the majors. The 3 time all star also broke his 82 record for the most saves ever by a reliever of 47 and smashed it setting the bar at 56.
For his career Doug has 253 saves in 6 seasons and has been heard saying that when he retires he wants to have set the career save mark so high that his name will be synonymous with Dandy Don Meredith singing, 'turn out the lights, the party's over'
One thing is for sure, if a batter faces him in the 9th, they'll feel the noise...
