Wednesday 6/8/1984: San Francisco has no chance in a 1-hitter by Dennis Lewallyn
SAN FRANCISCO - St. Louis' right-hander Dennis Lewallyn is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking San Francisco on just one hit. It's his 3rd shutout this season, and the 8th time he has done it in his career. 'I had my stuff going. Everything I tried worked. What a day!' Lewallyn (7-3) struck out 3 and issued 2 BB, throwing 60 of 92 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for St. Louis was shortstop Tim Raines Sr., he finished 3 for 4, homering twice, doubling once, with FOUR runs scored with 6 RBI.
