It's his 6th shutout this season, and the 38th time he has done it in his career. Gullett (12-6) struck out 1 and walked 1, throwing 59 of 97 pitches for strikes. 'I really like to play baseball, and I love the way I was able to play it today.' Dave Hostetler provided New York (N) with the offense Gullett needed as he got 1 hit in 4 AB. Cheadle (5-9) was overpowering, fanning 11 while walking none, throwing 92 pitches. Cincinnati's rightfielder Leon Durham collected 3 hits in 4 trips to the plate, doubling once, with 2 RBI.
